John was studying horticulture in the Midwest when he went looking for a job at a local flower shop. That is where he first saw Sue. She was in her shop smock, moving quickly through buckets of fresh flowers, and he still tells the story of how he noticed her smile and her great legs and thought she was completely out of his league. Before long they were working side by side, learning the business from the ground up and falling in love one order at a time.
Not long after, they took a big leap and moved to Las Vegas to build a life and a flower shop of their own. They did not come to town with investors or a safety net. They came with family behind them, a lot of borrowed money from relatives and friends who believed in them, and a shared belief that hard work and honest service still mattered. With that support they opened their first store, and little by little it grew into one of the longest running and most respected flower shops in Las Vegas.
The shop has always been a family place. Their daughter Amy grew up among flower buckets and ribbon, doing homework in the back room and watching her parents take care of customers like old friends. Today Amy and her family help run DiBella Flowers and Gifts every day, carrying on the same values that started it all. Treat people like family. Stand behind your work.
